Second day in Prague

Hi Anna!

Ahh when you read this it will be CHRISTMAS EVE!! I wonder what you will be doing?

Last night before our sauna session, we walked around the Old Town and climbed up the Astronomical Clock Tower for spectacular night views of the Christmas Markets. HW booked all the hotels and so far it's been superb because they're all close to the main attractions. The hotel that we're currently staying is rather grand and decorated in art noveau style. Plus it's great having free wi fi here! This means I can blog and wish everyone a Merry Christmas :D

I didn't know Prague was called Praha in Czech
Giant Xmas tree and markets

This morning after we'd stuffed ourselves silly with a continental breakfast buffet, we thought it was wise to spend the whole day walking it off. We walked all around Prague from the hotel to the Old Town, over Charles Bridge, up to Prague Castle, pass plenty of churches and a monastery, into shops for more Christmas decorations and back again.
Having my second helping :)
HW and I on Charles Bridge. Took us ages trying to get a decent photo of us!

Behind is Prague Castle. We walked from the bottom right of the photo. Unfortunately we weren't able to go inside because of the state funeral for the late Czech President.
HW and I went crazy with our decorations! We bought them from various stores along our descend from Prague Castle.
Prague isn't as cold as Nuremberg and sadly no snow is forecasted for Christmas :( The upside is that we didn't have to walk around with our gloves and were able to stay outdoors and walk around quite comfortably for a longer period of time.

I'm excited about tomorrow's lunch because we've made a booking at a restaurant based on reviews on tripadvisor.com.
Hope to hear about your Christmas activities soon :)
